On March 9-12, 2010, EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds in Moscow hosted the 13th Specialized Exhibition Tires & Rubber 2010. The exhibition provided a forum for Russian and foreign manufacturers of synthetic rubber, tires and rubber products.

The exhibition was organized by P&I JSC MAXIMA and EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.

The exhibition was held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, supported by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Chemists Union, the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, the Association of Moscow Chemical Industry Organizations and the Russian Chemical Workers Union.

Due to its superb professional preparation and organization, Tires & Rubber Exhibition was awarded by the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

On March 9, 2010, Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the opening ceremony of Tires & Rubber 2010 International Exhibition. Speakers who addressed the Exhibitions participants and guests included Mr. V.P. Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union, Mr. M.S. Budennuy, Deputy Director of EXPOCENTRE Guest Exhibitions, and Mr. O.K. Pakshin, Director General of P&I JSC MAXIMA .

According to Mr. Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union, over 13 years Tires & Rubber 2010 has become a traditional forum and important communication tool, supporting modernization and introduction of new technologies and latest industrial developments by companies. The Exhibition has a significant impact on tire and rubber industry development.

Mr. Budennuy, Deputy Director of Expocentre Guest Exhibitions, believes that Tires & Rubber 2010 as the main exhibition of the industry contributes to strengthening positions of Russian enterprises and realizing their potential, which brings the industry to a new level.

Mr. Pakshin, Director General of P & I JSC Maxima , wished Tires & Rubber 2010 guests and participants successful work. "Constant improvement of the service quality, annual development of an up-to-date business program and awarding participants with best achievements are policies we, as the hosts of Tires & Rubber Exhibition follow annually, said Mr. Pakshin. Having emphasized the importance of the exhibition, its superb preparation and organization supported with long history and awards of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, Mr. Pakshin expressed gratitude to its partners Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Russian Chemists Union and Expocentre Fairgrounds.

In 2010 the Exhibition was held in Expocentre Fairgrounds Pavilion No. 7 and occupied over 1,500 sq.m. net. The exhibition presented over 130 companies from 21 countries: Armenia, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, China, Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Belarus, Russia, USA, Slovakia, Taiwan, Ukraine, France, and Switzerland.

The following products were presented at Tires & Rubber 2010: tires for all wheeled vehicles, tire manufacturing technologies and equipment, rubber, raw materials and rubber production equipment, elastomers and elastomer composites, general rubber goods, technologies and equipment for their production, chemical fiber, technical textile, metal cord and special products including safety clothing.

Among participants of Tires & Rubber 2010 were the leaders of the Russian and foreign markets, such as Ellerbrock Reifenrunderneuerungs-technologie GmbH, Lanxess, Marangoni Tread SPA, Montech Werkstoffprufmaschinen GmbH, Wacker Chemie AG, Aeolus Tyre Co Ltd, Balakovorezinotekhnika OJSC, Khimprom OJSC, RTI-caoutchouc OJSC, Ruskhimset CJSC, ETC Group of Companies, Kurskrezinotekhnika CJSC, etc. The companies Adelmann Umwelt GmbH, Euro-Tyre B.V., Kurz Karkassenhandel GmbH, Belarus Metallurgic Plant, Evrobaltshina LLC, Lakokraska-Uganets Plant, Arantas LLC, DS Trade Group, presented their products and services for the first time.

In four days of Tires & Rubber 2010 Exhibition, about 5,000 experts (which is by 30% more than in 2009) viewed the products of Russian and foreign manufacturers of synthetic rubber, tires and general rubber goods.

Discussions of up-to-date topics and challenges of the rubber and tire industry are annually held within the framework of the Tires & Rubber business program.

For the first time, the International Rubber and Tire Congress- IRTC - 2010 was held at Tires & Rubber 2010. The Congress was organized by P & I JSC MAXIMA , EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds and the Russian Chemists Union.

The Congress took place on March 10, 2010, and was dedicated to advanced, more sustainable, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly technologies, advanced products with new applications, effective use of raw materials, current trends and challenges of the industry and their solutions.

Two international conferences were held in the framework of the Congress: RubbiRussia-2010 and Tire Business: Challenges and Prospects-2010.

The RubbiRussia-2010 sessions were dedicated to current science-intensive chemical technologies for rubber production and processing including ecological and economical aspects, challenges of elastomeric technologies, chemical and technological education.

International Conference Rubber Business: Challenges and Prospects 2010 covered a wide range of technological issues in tire, machine-building and instrument-making industries. The conference will become an independent forum for world leaders in the tire market, leading Russian and foreign experts in the industry.

To facilitate development of the Russian tire and rubber production and the range of manufactured products, Tire & Rubber' 2010 Exhibition hosted the 9th International Contest EMA - Elastomeric Materials and products Award -2010. The Contests main goal was to identify and award best companies, developing and implementing effective, advanced technologies and materials in all spheres of the chemical industry.

The Contest was held by P&I JSC MAXIMA, EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds and the Russian Chemists Union.

On March 9, 2010, the Contest Expert Committee held a meeting. The Committee was comprised of experts in rubber and tire industries, scientists, and representatives of organizations working for the chemical industry or consuming chemical products, which allowed unbiased, objective and independent evaluation of products participating in the Contest.

Such companies as Tchaikovsky RTD Plant CJSC, Dimitrovgradsky Valve Plant LLC, RTI-Caoutchouc OJSC, NIIRP OJSC, Kurskrezinotekhnika CJSC, Ural Plant of General Rubber Goods OJSC, Eliz LLC, Sovtekh LLC, ARANTAS LLC, presented their products in the following nominations: synthetic rubber, including special-purpose rubber; elastomers, elastomer yarn of various description, thermoplastic elastomers and their products; general rubber materials with various applications and their products (fabrics, ribbons, belts, sleeves, covers, consolidators, foams, glues, sealants, etc.); additives for rubber and rubber goods (compounds, antioxidants, plasticizing agents, antistatic substances); valve equipment.

The Expert Committee of the EMA- Elastomeric Materials and Products Award -2010 announced the winners. It awarded 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The gold medal winners were Dimitrovgradsky Valve Plant LLC, Kurskrezinotekhnika CJSC, RTI-Caoutchouc OJSC, ARANTAS LLC, Ural Plant of General Rubber Goods OJSC. The silver medal winners were NIIRP OJSC, RTI-Caoutchouc OJSC, Tchaikovsky RTD Plant CJSC, Dimitrovgradsky Valve Plant LLC, ARANTAS LLC. The bronze medal winners were SOVTEKH LLC, Dimitrovgradsky Valve Plant LLC, NIIRP OJSC, ELIZ LLC (2 medals).

The prize winners of the Best Elastomeric Materials and Products-2010 Contest were awarded at the exhibition opening reception on March 10, 2010. Prizes were awarded by Mr. Pakshin, Director General of P & I JSC MAXIMA , and Mr. Semenov, Vice-President of the Russian Chemists Union.

The 14th International Specialized Tires & Rubber' 2011 Exhibition will take place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on March 1-4, 2011
